Jandyt: Well I thought it was t'uther, but how can you see the cap, hold it with pliers, hold the solder, hold the board and hold the iron and know which blob you're on, all at the same time?? Beats me1 You must have to be an octopus and have eyes that come out on stalks. Yes, I will have to come over one weekend. Can Jan make shepherds pie

  • Re: Is the Century able to fill a large room?

Me too - get a system proper, the 2 mentioned are really only suitable for a smallish room such as a bedroom or for background music in say a conservatory. Of course if background music is all you require in your living room then I suppose either would be fine, I would go for the BS1 on looks alone. Chris.

  • Re: S 80

Peter is right, I've just got some MC120.2's (which are almost identical to the S120's) and they are much better I'm extremely pleased with them. The S80's are still an excellent speaker though but will do doubt need the bass drivers refoaming. Nice that they have the floor stands too. Chris. EDIT :- Not sure of your location but

Well as seeing as I was asked I have a couple of pictures of the crossovers before & after recapping. Just thought I ought to add that these need gluing to the PCB as well as soldering (obviously), I imagine it is to stop metal fatigue due to vibration during playing so they don't fall off half way through Guns N' Roses rendition of Vivaldis

  • Re: Beovox S45, S50, S80 - Sound? Value?

I agree with Martin having actually looked at the photo's this time! I've owned all of the models you mention and the 120.2's are easily the best of the bunch IMO. Not that much bigger than the others but absolutely knockout performance compared to the other - which are still very very good. Chris.

Hi Timmy50 and welcome to beoworld. Someone else has had a similar idea with an avant on this thread . This may give you an idea as to the viability of this idea. Chris.

Zelbinion: What's involved in replacing the capacitors in the crossover? Would it be a difficult procedure? I have just replaced the capacitors on the crossovers of my MC120.2's. I bought a kit from member Dillen which came with full instructions. The beauty of buying a ready kit is it saves time and effort tracking down the correct spec cap's
