My post started with drilling speaker floor stands into the ceiling but perhaps it is not such a bad idea - why not use the table stand option and do the same, the lens used conventionally projects sound upwards, I can't work out why there would be any problem inverting them.

Jon, 'flipping' ridiculous I know. Just a though, can you use AV4 as PC or some other miscellaneous setting and use L/R stereo for link rooms in addition to a digital signal for surround sound in your main room?
-
I checked this with Steve at Sounds Heavenly only last week and was advised the same by an installer, I'll bring this thread to their notice, will make life a bit easier if a standard MK2 cable is all that is required however. Sorry for confusing the issue, it was an honest question based on the advice of others but maybe I won't bother in the

Switch live also needs to be routed to either pin 1 or 4 - do they come on if you don't do this?

I am not familiar with the Receiver however if it has variable pre-amp outputs and you connect via RCA with the switch set to LINE IN then the amp controls the volume. @Michael - you are confusing too many issues IMHO - the sub is driven directly from a pre-amp with 5.1 outputs as are all the other speakers, the the amp in your setup determines volume

I would need to know your setup - which TV are you using for example - and for future reference how did you solve your initial problem?
-
Yes pre-amp outs generally RCA - get phono to phono cables from Steve at Sounds Heavenly which you intend to use with B&O Speakers which have an RCA Connector for Line-in. Products like the BL2 Steve will make up the appropriate terminations. Your digital output (assuming you have one) would feed the amp and sound would be distributed through the

Very interesting posts from all - to be fair I think Peter has hit at least one of the nails on the head. About 6 months ago I bought an IMAC, and from thereon I have gone on to buy a 13.3 led screen macbook, together with a 24" led cinema display which will soon be taken out of its box to use! These products do it for me personally as does my
