Paul, I appreciate that you like Minis and B&O products. I'm happy that you're (from what I understand) new to the brand and eagerly awaiting the cool stuff we have in the pipeline. And I also agree that there are B&O dealers who suffer the same syndrome that many luxury dealers do in dealing with younger or less affluent customers.

Thing is that I do know the service system. If you were in Germany or Singapore I'd keep quiet. As it stands, though, I'm in a position to suspect that there are details that are yet to emerge. I have, however, popped some popcorn and am eagerly awaiting further telling of this tale.

As for the BeoSound 9000, 5 hours may be a bit on the high side, but not by much and we're talking a matter of a few hundred dollars. You can almost always deal on the level with your local shop and/or service center. We're not such a large corporation that you'll

It sounds like there's more to this story. The US & Canada share an RSO so policies are the same across the board. First of all, BeoLab 5s qualify for in-home service. If it's a warranty issue the company covers all transport to the site, parts, and labor. So no. If you're in Montreal as your ID says you are you do not, in fact, have

For most of B&O's history, media moves slowly. Decades of vinyl, a decade plus of tapes, two decades of CDs. A form factor could be introduced and stay relevant for the life of the media it dealt with, which helped to justify the price. Now media moves quickly. A large investment can seem out of proportion with speed at which media formats are

RA2 is a huge improvement over RadioRA and, as has been mentioned, the inclusion of HVAC makes it the best value out there. Anything cheaper would be more like an individual switch rather than a global control system.
Trip, Any experience with Crestron prodigy?
Somfy are too loud. So are mechoshades. Lutron makes the only silent drive on the market in the US. I don't know of any made elsewhere either. In terms of lighting and shading, it's not like a new company is going to pop up out of nowhere with a viable solution. Lutron, as I see it, continues to be the best out there. They're going to market
Tell me 'Trip', as a matter of interest, are there any 3D TV channels in the States? In the UK there are and this could have an affect upon its eventual take-up by consumers, just as HD TV channels have helped accelerate the adoption of HD TVs. The subscription based Sky sports channels are very popular in the

I'm really shocked. While I love the 9s, I'd never compare them with 5s. Sure, environments differ, but the 5s are almost magical.

The audio system is immaterial. The speaker is the only variable. Sonically speaking, the 6000 is better than the 4000 and not as good as the 8000. If you're speaking aesthetically, only you can answer that.
