.... and a few questions, too, for JK, Soundproof and others who have hooked up the Apple TV. Well, I've finally got my BV8 hooked to both the Apple TV and a cable box. I'm using IR blasters to control both boxes with the Beo 4. The Apple TV is tethered to the TV via HDMI and the cable box via component input (with the help of a scart-to-RCA

Keanone, I partially agree; the Apple TV does seem to always be somewhat "on" in that even when the little light on the front of the TV is off the unit can still synch with a computer. However, I sure would like to be able to extinguish that light as the unit gets less hot with the light off and I suspect that the hard drive is less active

OK, it's now been about a month that I've had the BV-8. Until last night, I'd only had the Apple TV hooked to the BV-8 via HDMI and I was very happy with the results. I routinely get to see flat panel TVs, and despite some misgivings by others on this forum regarding the BV-8's "PQ", I'm happy to report that at least from

Keanone, I agree with Alex and jk1002 regarding hooking the Apple TV to your BV8. With a lot of help from those two guys as well as "Soundproof", I hooked a 160GB Apple TV to my BV8 via an HDMI cable and then hooked a pair of BL3s to the BV8. This was somewhat of an experiment in that I wanted to see what Apple lossless music would sound like

rsmyth, I wish I could comment on the DVD1's pq, but I've never laid eyes on the machine, much less it's output. Us USA-based B&O enthusiasts aren't exposed to as much B&O hardware as you European guys. I, too, would like to hear the thoughts of others as to the picture quality as well as overall quality of the DVD1. Mark

I'm with jk1002; I'm going to try and find a DVD1 so that I can play the occassional DVD on the spur of the moment and still control it via the Beo 4 (like jk, my two IR blasters are committed to the Apple TV and a cable box). Most of my DVDs, though, will go unencoded as it takes too long to do so and because I suspect that we'll soon be

I'd like to throw my 2 cents in (not sure home many Euros that is, but not a lot). JK, Soundproof and several others were kind enough to help me set up my Apple TV / BV8 / BL3s / cable box with DVR. Owing to the lack of inputs on the BV8 and B&O's poor preparation on their customer service end (at least here in the USA with the BV8), my

One other thing: Does anyone have advice about where I could get a very used, but working BC2 that's been heavily discounted? The last thing I want to do is spend a bunch of money on a B&O DVD player that I consider overpriced and underperforming ($4K for a DVD player without HDMI, only 480i, etc.), but that player would at least give me DVD

JK1002 and Bingo, Thank you both very much. JK, as I'd prefer to stick with the B&O adapters (or, at least, the B&O recommended adapters), I'll ask my dealer about ordering that specific part number. You don't happen to have the B&O part # for the infra-red cord that came with the BV8? My dealer is going to order a third party

Soundproof, My dealer is having trouble finding the smaller component to Scart and RCA to Scart converters. Do you happen to know where I can get the ones that you pictured in your post? I've gone on the website of a company called Gefen, but for some reason, I'm getting a little confused about what type of converter I need. I think it needs
