They can, but you have to set up the LC2s to switch on and off without fading.
-
As I recall from wandering around the service menus, you really can't speed up the startup time - and it is VERY slow. I find myself hitting the buttons again as it takes so long - maybe twice as long as the Beosystem 2 did. You can - if you want - slow them down more though! I'm not sure that you should panic about playing around with items

It very much sounds like you haven't got the IR wand in the right place. I have mine at 10 O'clock on the 'dial' on the front of the box (the round bit that cycles when playing back something from disk) and it is working fine - but if you hold the wand a few inches in front of the box, you should get results and move it closer to the

Alex: subversive: On the topic of the BeoSystem 3 software update - it's not actually that easy to do. Takes a very long time and if anything goes wrong during the process, it has to start all over again. In a way, updating through chipping was easier. Back off telly, old chip out, new chip in. Done. You can change the default option for Video and audio separately to Speaker 2. 2) You should use the Pace Sky+ option in the STB choices - it should be there

On a Sky HD box though, you can't get DD 5.1 out of the HDMI port - shame.

That's the point - the processor would detect the DTS and switch on the rear speakers automatically - they don't if you only have the HDMI cable plugged in.
-
Good to know. Thanks - I'll try it out.
-
I'm still puzzled as to how the line level audio outputs connect to the Beolink converter - surely you need more than the AUX connector? I tell you, this MCL stuff is SO retro!
-
DoubleU: *need the SP/DIF connector* With HDMI ???? 'fraid so - it isn't pretty but you can confirm that it is needed by putting the default speaker mode to 3 and trying to play a DTS movie - unless you have the SP/DIF cable plugged in - the surround speakers will not switch on!
