• IR "blaster" for BV8?

I have my BV8 installed in a cabinet that blocks the ir receiver from one the seating areas in the room. Is there any IR blaster-type product that allows one to install a remote IR receiver for the TV that would pass commands to the TV? These exist for "normal" A/V equipment... but I'm guessing they probably don't support B&O's

  • Re: Linkroom: N.Music sounds destroyed while Radio/CD sounds good??
I do not understand why iTunes should be the problem as it works well in the mainroom. It must be some kind of ML problem.
I agree. Here's a little troubleshooting logic: 1) Other link sources sound fine in room 2 so the ML input audio to room 2 and the BV8-32 is not the problem 2) N.Music/N.Radio sound

  • Re: MOTS will not disable X-mass CD's

I have had problems when I excluded an entire album (some song still seemed to play). However, when I exclude individual songs, this seems to work. I just realized that my exclude list got wacked when I had my BS5 serviced a while back, and I tried excluding the a couple albums again, and we'll see... Also, the exclude doesn't seem to be retro

  • Re: Talk me into/out of buying BS5
The answer I provided discussed the underpinning technology of one product versus another. On a pure technology (software+hardware) front, there is absolutely no contest. If ever you want proof, just search for pictures of the insides of a BS5 and BM5. Then do a search for pictures of the screen from actual customers

  • Re: Audio compression formats

The Beosound 5 works best with WMA lossless as this is the only format that supports gapless playback. I personally use a combination of WMA lossless, mp3 and acc (I've been too lazy to losslessly encode all my music). With respect to audible differences - lossless is lossless. Lossless compression algorithms compress the music on the disk, but

  • Re: Beolink Wireless and Active?

This is now clear to me. To make a wireless receiver work as a master link extension, then the wireless receiver cannot have local speakers connected to it. I have tried this, and it doesn't' work My concern with adding a 3rd wireless is a) I'd have to buy it and b) I'm a bit concerned about the wireless reception for the 2nd room. I'm

  • Re: Beolink Wireless and Active?

Thank you. I guess I should have been more clear. I currently have 2 BeoLink Wireless 1's working fine (one set as transmitter connected to my BS900, the other set as receiver powering some BL4s in my bedroom). I'd like to run a ML cable from the Wireless receiver (in my bedroom) to an Active (currently unused) in the next room to extend the

  • Beolink Wireless and Active?

All, According to a page somewhere on this site, the Beolink Wireless 1 supports the Beolink Active. My interpretation of this "support" means that one can connect the Active to a Wireless receiver and have it work basically as a ML extender. That is, the Active should behave just like a hardwired Active, correct? Anyway, I tried this today

  • Re: Beovision 8-40 MK II

I don't know if the Mk2 is the same as the recent US-spec Bv8-40 (which we got this last summer, if I recall correctly)... However, if it is, I bought one about 3 weeks ago, and I think it is fabulous. It took me since the summer to talk myself into it... after all, it's 4x the cost for old technology - right?!?! WRONG. Forget the specs and

  • Re: Beomaster 5 + Beosound5 vs. BeoMedia 1 + iPod Touch
Stan, Couldn't agree more. Pick a track that matches your mood and GO - just let the machine do the work. I think I have heard more of my music in the last 12 months than I did for the previous 10 years. You are right that it sometimes throws up unusual combinations, but more often than not these are nice surprises
