Re foaming the woofers is not difficult! Having done a pair of CX50s I tackled these next! I would suggest doing one speaker at a time so that you have a template with the second one to see where the baffle goes. Take care with the removal of the straps around the speaker as these are probably brittle by now. Use a large flat surface to leave the speakers

Does the MCL2AV work with the later ML/MCL converter (hockey puck eye marries up via 7 pin din) or only the MCL 2P (older rectangular transceiver - bare cable)? Brian

Have you had a chance to try the suggestion out? I have tried with an eye - but I am not sure if the eye is working! I am going to dig out another eye and try again at the weekend. Brian

Thank you - a project for later! Brian

I have now replaced 8 foam rings on small and large speakers - it takes care and time but is not difficult. The instructions provided are good - the only thing I have altered is the number of clothes pegs to hold the foam in place while the glue sets - about 4 times as many worked well to prevent any movement off centre! It made me dig out my UK catalogue of the same era! One can see an element of similarity - but not the in depth techincal extras available in the US version. A far cry from the US "catalogues" I picked up in the mid 90s. I can only agree with the previous comment about the heyday. Brian

Very few parts now! I was the lucky person to obtain one of the last new polished front panels (I must update my image to reflect it's condition!). Some of the internal boards were already unavailable - I think it is only the battery that remains (sadly the easiest part ot source elsewhere if they were to run out at B&O) Brian

I would disagree with the audio output side. Aesthetically the BL8000s are excellent but I would personally prefer to listen to a pair of BL9s than a pair of BL8000s with a BL2. Try them out - everyone has a personal opinion! Brian

Try http://stores.ebay.co.uk/good-hifi for a link to a web site. A Dutch supplier of foam rings - very helpful. I have no interest in this - just had good service and used these for a pair of RL140s, CX50s and also a small pair for a Beovision LX2500. The price for a 10" pair (you will need 3 measurements - see his web site) will be about $20-30

(From the catalogue) Beomaster 900 RG De Luxe and Compact These beautifully designed sterograms are bascially similar with elegant hand crafted cabinets of teak or rosewood finish. The compact is designed for the smaller room. Radio amplifier section is as for the Beomaster 900 table radios and is simply adapted for stereo broadcasts. The Beomaster
