The MMC20CL's all sound wonderful in my Beogram 4002.

I had the same problem this week with a 4002 type 5524. Turned out to be the AC motor at fault.

The plastic ruler is mounted on a metal bracket fixed to the moving carriage by two set screws which allow adjustment of the distance of the ruler from the phototransistor at both ends of the travel. I normally use a folded piece of paper as a feeler gauge to set the ruler up prior to tightening the two screws.

Back in the early 80's the B&O dealer in Cheltenham decided to retire and sold the business on. Under the terms of the purchasers finance agreement, he could only buy that stock which was still sealed in the original box. Included in the stock, at the time, was a NIB Beovision 5502 Colour TV. Unfortunately the box had been opened to enable fitting

Yes, it is fully Beosystem 5000 compatible.

I would say that you should send it back. They are so cheap now that they are hardly worth getting repaired. Buy another and see if your luck changes.

Agree with Mika, recipe for disaster! Leave the spares in the drawer until they are needed.
