• Re: Active or passive speakers with a Beocenter 9500
Have had both - for a big room, I would have the S120s but the BL3s are a lovely small speaker. Played at high volumes, the S120s are superior but at normal and low volumes, the BL3s are hard to beat.
I agree with Peter here, I can only add that my personal preference would be the 120's but I'm a known

This is normal - all beograms from this era onwards are very bouncy. B&O call it the anti vibration system or something. Chris.

The tacho disc is fitted round the "hub" underneath the black subplatter. It is about 3" to 4" in diameter & all you will be able to see is the outermost part of the strobe ring. I don't have a BG8000 anymore so cannot post a photo but you can see it in the service manual - section 4-1 & part number 0016 on the exploded

  • Re: beolink 5000

The BL5000 will be fine with a BM7000 & offer 2 way communication - right up until the point where you accidentally drop it & it stops working, they aren't particularly robust I'm afraid. Other options are :- Beolink 1000, MCP6500/5500, Beo4/5/6 & of course the Beolink 7000. Chris.

  • Re: BeoGram 8000 Speed Variation Problem

Hi nettrain & welcome to Beoworld. This is more than likely a tacho disc problem. The BG8000 has a strobe/tacho disc under the subplatter which is part of the speed regulation system. The early ones were fitted with a printed celluloid affair which will now be disintegrating & likely to be the case with yours. This was remedied in later versions
I'm sure we could all have a moan about where we come from though... and how typically British of me to have 'Post5k' as a moan.. Lee
Not really a moan Lee - just saying it as it is. I am absolutely disgusted how each & every government in my lifetime has incrementally ripped off & disenfranchised

  • Beovox S55 Bass driver

Hi all, I need a bass driver/woofer for a Beovox S55. It doesn't matter if it needs refoaming & I aren't looking for a freebie as it is for a paying 3rd party who's speakers I said I would have a look at (the original is totally shot & irrepairable). Chris.
