Do they come with their own security guard ? $1350. I had looked at the ue5 but I am just not sure about multiple drivers in something so small! I think I would look at Sennheiser IE6 or 8s. I actually just bought some more A8s as I couldn't find anything else easily available in a bricks and mortar store.

Had a quick play yesterday - sounds great and I had no problem with build quality. As fas as I can see, the only problem to start with was supply. As Trip says, they seem to just walk out of the stores!

Interesting, though I don't agree! I find the Soundsmith cartridges do sound quite a bit different to the original B&O cartridges. I know some of it will be age related, but I do have cartridges that still test flat and the sound is quite different to the equivalent Soundsmith. I have a suspicion that it will be poor set up as much as anything. The Beo5 is a complex and powerful rempote but is also capable of being too complicated and needing too many presses to achieve what one press on a Beo4 could suffice. As stated above, the picture in my opinion is superb. The style is also simply the best. The sound knocks all similar sized TVs into a cocked hat but is just not as good as either an Avant or a BV5. The reasons for this are obvious - it is very thin. The provision of a BL11 could well help this but my decision was to change to a BV5.

I had my 10-40 on a floor stand, with Pentas, 4000s and a BL2. The problem I had was that I found the centre speaker was strident and lacking in what I would call presence. The replacement BV5 just sounds much more how I want it to. The picture is not as sharp but perfectly good.I prefer the looks of the BV10 - less dominating though.

A clamp would couple the platter and LP together - and the 4000 platter is heavy. You would need some sort of puck centrally to avoid cupping the record! Clearly a mat would be another answer if just playing LPs - I tried this in the 80s with mixed results - quite frankly it looked rotten and took sometime to make - I cut out the shape of the ribs from
