• Re: A Bargain?
Thinking to buy a Soundsmith SMMC 20E Cartridge but i'm not sure about the longterm use quality. Another option would be retipping one of my other MMC 20S, E or EN Cartridges. Any suggestions? Thanks!
I've had an SMMC20EN for two years and I'm completely happy with it! But it doesn't sound

There is one on eBay at the moment at a surprising £465, not even new, and the tip is dirty!
Both of my 4000's have the tape strip. ALL of my 4002/4's have the metal strip. • Re: Brand new MMC4/5

Hello! I have just discovered that someone here in France does B&O re-tips! I had missed that one. Maybe because since the demise of the Revue du Son I haven't read any other mags than the excellent Hi-Fi World (I'm a 20 year subscriber!). I'll have to give them a ring to know whether they also renew the suspension. I'll keep you
Audiokarma members aren't any more hostile toward B&O as some Beoworlders have been hostile toward, say, Nakamichi cassette decks.
I do love my Nakamichi CR-4E, it is a wonderful cassette deck! But so are my Beocords, 5000 (80's) and 9000!

Hi, I'm glad to report that the MMC20CL still works fine. It gives a lovely and subtle sound on my Beogram 4000/Beomaster 4400 system! It is also a wonderful tracker Much better than my re-tipped MMC4... Yes, that one is an original pressing of The Wall!

Well, remember there are some B&O fans at Audiokarma, Adam Smith not being the least of them! Anyway, bla-bla... Evan, did you do anything this weekend? Photos please?

  • Re: Beogram 4000 differences throughout production?

I can confirm that my beogram 4002 has a plastic strip. I guess B&O used whatever parts they had to build (clear?) the last Beogram 4000 decks, while they were already producing the 4002... or something like that! The metal strip markings have become brown on my deck.

  • Re: Beomaster 4400 - Capacitor replacement

Hi Søren, My Beomaster 4400 still works fine, including the protection circuit! It also sounds great, possibly a bit brighter than my BM 8000, especially with the tone controls defeated. Have you finished yours?
