looked through the photos I took during my rebuild last month and I am not sure mine is wired quite the same as yours leslie. or simply the black/ white wire on yours was replaced with a solid black on mine but heres the pics from mine anyways. I would look to matching up the lump. But based on my set the wire definately does not belong on the preset

Almost all my presets were stuck on my BM 2000. Two had damaged dial wheels. I cleaned them and then relubricated using lithium and then had to superglue the cracked dials back in place. All are working now.

You are not alone Soren, I blew up a BM 5000 last summer making silmilar trimmer adjustments to the no load current. I my case it was laziness. the alligator clips I normally use were downstairs and I thought I could handle it alone with my steady hand. They were originally fretted to mount against a yellow wall... but I change things around here often, but they do match the frets on the CX-100's , and that completes the set. RL60.2
