I've taken the liberty of posting the link you found as an announcement on the ebay section as it is a subject which crops up more than any other there. I am going to leave your post here on the general section as I really think this subject warrants the attention of the general membership. Once again, thank you very much for this excellent bit

This is an excellent link provided by member 11048437 which shows some of the differences between genuine & fake A8's as sold on ebay. Link They say a picture paints a thousand word and this is certainly the case here. Chris.

That's excellent 11048437 and many thanks for the link, Would you mind me pinning this in the ebay section of beoworld? Chris.

I love this thread - it has gone from "will a BS1 or Centuary" fullfil my needs? to considering a BS3200 with Beolab 5000's. Brilliant and a perfect illustration of exactly how B&O gets under your skin. Chris.

doomlordis: I like the look of the Beolab 5000 wall hanging speakers, are they any good or just pure eye candy? Both! Excellent speakers. Chris.

lausvi: It indeed makes a difference! When I bought my Beovox S75 speakers they sounded quite well. I would really recommend to replace the caps in the crossovers of any B&O speaker: it will make a difference! This exactly echo's my point. My 120.2's sounded very good indeed but not quite as good as I'd first hoped even after refoaming

Buy her some shoes - problem solved What speakers are you thinking of? I quite like the Beolab 4000's. Chris.

Hi Des and welcome to Beoworld 1. & 2, Classic examples of problems with the cords which drive the door opening mechanisms. They may be either broken or simply jumped off the pulleys, it also looks like the runners need a clean and re-lube. I'm by no means an expert on these machines - I leave that title to member joyboygolf (Graham) - but replacement
