For background listening, particularly if you're moving about the room, four speakers (or more) is very nice. If you want to deep dive into your music, and discover what your speakers can do, then you want to play the perspective that's been placed in your source - whether stereo, multi-channel, SACD with back acoustics added, etc. BTW - to

GuyHui : BV8 looks great close to your iMac. Aluminum adds this elegant touch to your set-up. Hope it helps in your decision making. Should point out that these items don't usually go together. The iMac is in one room, and the BV8 is in my den, together with a Beosystem 6500. The MCP6500 is now strictly for show - it's fully functional, but

Oh, I think those are nice stories, telling us to ease up and enjoy. The tweaking can get ridiculous. I don't know what out-of-phase on bass sounds like, but have gotten an inkling as to what it can do to sensitive tweeters. The Dynaudios are -- I can't listen to Roger Water's Amused to Death with the speakers out of phase. (Experimented

Thousands of people had their Mail stop working with 10.2! My daughter is the guinea pig when it comes to Leopard in our household, and she's not happy. The MacBook keeps having trouble with the Airport, and we had to do some surgery using the Terminal. Lots of complaints over at Support>Discussions>Leopard>Network connectivity about this

Peter: Actually the pin is +ve and the blade -ve on a DIN plug. The muting circuit works on Speaker 1 and the contacts can corrode with time so using Speaker 2 can sometimes help. Good, I remembered correctly when it came to +/-, then. Would have been funny if I had it bass ackwards on my stereo! BTW - often thought this phase thing was just a lot of

@GuyHui I put up some images over in the General Forum, since it's more of a design matter than pure Mac. Thread called. Guy's Line-Up.

Alex: soundproof: The Edge Dinovo keyboard is perfect with its integrated mousepad. It also has media controls. You just have to swallow hard and accept that the Apple-Command key equivalent carries a Windoze logo, and is where the alt-key is on a Mac keyboard. You must be JOKING! My desk has been Microsoft free for over a year and a half now! Well

My bad, somewhere I've picked up that SCART isn't used in the US. I stand corrected!

You will learn the Mac interface and functions in two hours, and never look back. It's a promise. And should you require any assistance, then just post your queries at the Mac forum or send a PM.

No, ideally there shouldn't be any difference between the two speakers outs, but the connections may have degraded, and it's worth trying both. Particularly as the mute circuitry is mechanical - at least that's my understanding. If I remember correctly, the round pin is + and the flat pin is - (don't have time to look it up now). Your
