The Beocenter 9500 has built in RIAA on the phono input so you do NOT need an external pre amp. Of course the built in RIAA pre amp could have been bypassed by a previous owner!?!?

The hum is because the beogram earth needs to be connected to the beocenter earth. The phono socket on the 9500 is the correct socket to connect this deck to. You are possibly getting no signal because the RCA connections are outputs rather than inputs!

I can't say that I've noticed any difference although I've not had them side by side. Reliability has not been an issue.

Is the wire following the same route on both turntables? Check the electrical cables to the carriage. Are they moving upwards as the carriage moves and interfering with moving parts of the turntable?

As far as I am aware, there are no additional features other than N-Music/N-Radio. I don't think you get pin code protection. Certainly, I have had 3000's with N-Music and no pin code protection. Please let us know if I am wrong!

The deck height should be adjusted with the arm in the centre of the record. It does make a difference!

wtlc2zpx: We do not suggest to replace the Forum by a wiki. The forum is a great place to discuss. It is the Product/FAQ/Article pages so that they can evolve a bit more.
