• Re: Datalink Cables
Thankfully the cable hasn't been cut, there's a din socket. Here's a pic of the back to clear up any confusion.
Well, I'll be! There it is! I'll send you an email!

  • Re: TX-2 Turntable

Does your Onkyo have an RIAA input for PHONO? If not, you will need to source an external amp -the TX2 definitely does not have one! As you are in the states... take a look here for B&o authorized replacements.

  • Re: TX-2 Turntable

A lot of it will hinge on the inclusion/condition of the cartridge... in your case, a MMC3... decent, middle of the pack cartridge, but nothing lasts forever and there was little comment made on its condition. If needing replaced... Soundsmith. It also appears that there are cleaning marks in the perspex, or at least, poor pics. ++++EDIT++++ the platter

You know what... that is exactly what I was thinking regarding the captive cable!?!? I am confused as I thought it had one too. Is there indeed a DIN socket out? (There should be a "future use" digital out) Or, might the cable have been cut? Anyone?

Curious, what do you need the DLink for and how long? Don't the other devices have it included in this series?

  • Re: New member, new (to me) Beomaster/gram 8000

Well, based on the pics... looks like you indeed have found an issue! I would deal with that first.
The other issue is that after a short time the microprocessor goes on the fritz: the relay clicks open, and I lose all sound. Radio reception goes dead. And after a couple more minutes, the display starts changing inputs

  • Re: Are any of you using two sets of surround speakers?
No one here has a 7 speaker setup?
Well, I do run one in a non B&o setup (7.2)... the additional channels don't seem to get much of a work out unless the source included them... maybe 5-10% of what I watch? As far as my B&o setup... I actually reduced from 5.1 to 3.1...
