  • Re: Where is Beosound 5

What's special about that? Sure it would sound good but it wouldn't be 'special'. There are lots and lots of very special sounding CD players & decks out there, even one or two hard drive based systems. None of them seem to do anything particularly differently though, other than just sounding very good...

It should work as long as the MacBook you buy is similar to yours. Some of the hardware changed from generation to generation. As for the MacBook Pro, if/when you can afford it, get it! It'll be one of the best computers you've ever owned. I've had two now, as my first one was a lemon (bought it not long after they had first come out), and I had a million

  • Re: New House, New System........????????????

I agree with others about the BeoLab 9s! Move the 6000s to the link room, and get the BL9s as 'main' speakers. They really are the best speakers B&O have produced (with the exception of the 5s). As for the BeoSound 4, IMO it's a considerable step up from the BeoSound 3000/similar in terms of build quality/sound quality. Call me a hifi enthusiast, but

  • Re: New Mac user, a few quick questions.

I'm a Safari user, I found it faster and more reliable than Firefox. Don't like Firefox's look either. I think it changes massively from user to user though, so find which one is best for you...

The basic shape is the same, but I don't think anybody is going to think they've got the same as B&O with one of those...

  • Re: Christmas dilema

You could get a BeoLink Wireless and connect the two together via BeoLink. However, this can be unreliable when it comes to parties (wireless generally is anyway), so your best bet would be a BeoSound 9000 or 4. The 9000 is wonderful, especially the 6-CD capacity (great for parties), but as a personal preference, I think I prefer the BeoSound 4...

Agreed, do NOT get Norton antivirus (or any other variant), all it does is start to take up resources. As far as getting viruses on a Mac go, it's next to impossible, unless you start using Microsoft Office (the Mac variant of course). There are a number of viruses out there which specifically target Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and they will

I expect you've probably already done this, but try installing this software update. If that does nothing, your best bet is to claim under warranty (assuming it's still under warranty). If not, there's not much you can do! Really shouldn't happen this soon, but there will always be exceptions

  • Re: Prioritization

I agree with others, BeoLab 3s as rears would compliment BeoLab 9s as fronts much better than 6000s!

  • Re: Beolink 7000

Gonna have to disagree with Simon on this one and agree with Peter. The magic of the BL7000 comes from the two-way communication and without it, you've basically got a very heavy/oversized/battery-gobbling BeoLink 1000, and the BL1000 would be better because it's more rugged and faster/easier to use. If you had a BeoSystem 7000 or any other fully two
