You post gives no answers to anything. It just takes some of the things I said and re-words them in a different way :) Yes, I realise that AAC is an open standard....but as you say Apple have their own version which stops iTunes-sourced audio being played on non-iTunes compatible technology. We know - we've also used iTunes - that if you take audio

Or keep the Avant and see what happens with this new proposed BV7-40 MKIV early 2009? It's rumoured to have Blu-ray as standard and an updated 100Hz panel. Might be a step up from the existing BV7-40 MKIII and that's already a good TV.

April 2009?! I was hoping to buy this new media player in November. Indeed, my dealer was hoping that B&O would have a new product to sell by Xmas ;)

Even dealers do not seem to know how this system will work, exactly. I asked about the codecs and audio formats supported, but the two dealers I asked said 'they didn't tell us that!'. A lot of people would say there's little point spending nearly £12K on BL5 speakers and then downloading compressed audio from the iTunes music

Dave: I think we need to read akeithj's post properly moxxey. He's asking how to integrate a kuro (non B&O set) on it's own with his other B&O equipment such as his BC2... he doesn't want to buy a BeoSystem 3. Ah. My apologies. Too much drink last night :) I don't know about the Dolby support - if you read the Kuro specs
-
akeithj: Thank you for the input so far, however perhaps I did not make myself clear. The approximate cost of a BV 4 50 and BS 3 is £11,000, the cost of the new Kuro will be less than £3,000, it clearly makes no sense to combine a Kuro with a BS 3 just to save £2-3K. What I was hoping to find out was, is it possible to fully integrgrate

Mr10Percent: Beomaster 5 looks like Beomedia 1 black box. I really hope this Beomaster bit is small. If Apple can get an entire computer in to a Mac Mini case, I'm sure B&O can do the same. If it's the size of the Beomedia 1, I won't be happy. Where would you be able to 'hide' this box? The Beosound/master 5 combo should be similar

Razlaw: BS3 is closer to $7800, not $11000. Not in the UK it isn't, it's £5500. I just assumed it would be roughly double in the US. Anyway, it's still a bizarre thing to purchase a $8K to 'drive' a perfectly capable $6K TV.
-
jk1002: The question I have is, does the Kuro need the BS3 or can it stand up to the BV4 without it? Like 355f says, adding a BS3 to a Kuro might make the picture worse, but certainly not much better. Why add a $11000 BS3 to a $6000 TV? I'd rather use the spare cash to invest in other B&O equipment, such as the forthcoming Beosound 5 or better

Yes, but they were second hand! I bought a Beocom 2 second hand for £300 and it came with a huge chip on the handset - I can't use it, I can't blame a dealer and I'm only to blame by taking the risk of buying second hand. It can happen to anything. I've bought a second hand watch and it broke down and cost a lot of money to get
