I'm sure Peter or some other knowledgable sort will correct me if I'm wrong but I think Speakerlink outputs were fitted to BM5500, BM4500 and BC9000. The speaker drive was the normal speaker level output but the extra connections were for the displays on the Penta. Seems a bit daft to go through a power amp in the receiver to be attentuated

A8's are nominally 32 Ohms - pretty standard stuff.
Andy Maybe you're my secret twin? Brian
Oh, you'd definitely know!
They are for at home listening. I am looking for comfort and ease of getting on and off - good sound of course. Budget probably up to about £250 (QC3 price).
Even though I haven't heard the others you mention I would buy the Sennheisers without question. They've been around for ages and there

Are they for "at home" listening or on the move? Do you have a budget? For at home listening it is hard to beat the Sennheiser HD600's or HD650's. I have heard the 600's and was mightily impressed (our very own Peter owns a pair). The 650's were meant to supercede the 600's but they are available side by side and the prices

I was wondering (for my own interest really although others might be interested too) if Keith or one of the mods could outline the technical improvements afforded by the new software over and above the additional features we can see for ourselves. For example I understand that our previous storage space issues have been considerably eased, how has that
Sorry Puncher - did say it was a Mac Book Pro, .................
So you did, excuse me for being a complete idiot
-
Certainly does, Puncher, and it's also the default import program for EZ Audio Converter (the USB turntable's software). If using the Beomaster 5 is going to mean buying Windows for the Mac, then I really can't be bothered with it: it's already grossly overpriced for what amounts to a 500GB hard drive
-
Thanks, Puncher. Any idea how I set the computer to rip using Windows Media Player and not iTunes?
Does iTunes open up automatically when you insert the audio CD??
