I suggest trying what Geoff suggested first. See if the solenoid is working. It works together with a switch (to the left of the solenoid). This switch shorts a resistor elsewhere and allows for full power to activate the solenoid and lesser power to hold it while playing. If the switch contacts have oxidized (or the little flat bent spring between

Welcome to Beoworld ! If the hum is pulsating, one pulse per platter revolution, it will be the tachodisc disintegrating (new available). This type of hum will be audible from the deck itself (if you put your ear to it) and will transfer to the speakers where it will also be audible to some degree. If the hum is constant, it will be a missing ground

Sounds a lot better now. The 4066 is a CMOS circuit, so would be prone to damage from static electricity and wrong voltage in general so here I agree on replacing. If the tuner seems to be working fine, I wouldn't worry too much about it. If something goes wrong in the tuner, being a fairly low current part of the Beomaster, it won't kill the

Don't get me wrong - but; - You don't know which caps to replace - You don't know what their values are - You don't know which components that are most prone to failure by aging - You don't know which components that suffer the most in a lightning strike (usually not caps) - You don't know if you have the tools and instruments

A 12 inch record is much heavier than a 7 inch. That's how the deck senses what size record is on the platter. Are the transport safety screws undone ? The tapedeck belts are available as a set. It's not one of the easiest decks to replace belts in but by far the worst either. Mounting instructions with photos and text (english) can be included

Obviously, the cartridge should be mounted when adjusting or the weight of the cartridge would have to be added to what is set on the dial, making it impossible or at least very confusing to get right. It's described in the service manual, can be download'ed by silver and gold members. Well worth the small membership fee and Beoworld would be

Record size is determined by record weight, not the chosen speed. Try with a 7inch and a 12inch record respectively. Sounds like your Beocenter tape deck needs new belts, I can supply the belts, PM me for details. Martin

I like to use IPA (IsoPropanolAlcohol) and cotton buds (for lens cleaning...). Soak one end of a cotton bud in IPA and wipe the lens. Don't let it airdry but wipe the lens immediately again, this time using the dry end of the cotton bud. If allowed to airdry, IPA will often leave a little residue and even if dust and dirt has been losened by the
