Yes it does exist. B&O have confirmed that a BV7 without DVD will be available. However, as I say, no idea how much of a saving can be justified with the removal of a DVD mechanism! I'll be amazed if they can 'save' EUR 1300 from removing the DVD. Indeed, sounds like a stealth way for them to reduce the price of the TV, without reducing

I wonder how they figure their revision references? ie. the jump from a v4.xx to a v5.xx should be 'significant'. If not, they ought to progress through 4.3x, 4.4x, 4.5x etc.

I don't want to point out the obvious, but how much of a 'saving' can B&O achieve by removing a DVD mechanism?

ALL dealers are saying it's the 'must have', primarily as they've not had anything decent - and keenly priced - to sell to B&O customers for the last 12 months. It's also a device that's been in discussion since....Summer 2007! It's had an extremely long development cycle and B&O still seem hesitant to announce to

Beolab, this is the version we all have installed and is the reason behind the thread. Apparently there is a new sw (need to speak to my dealer on Monday) which is being tested internally, which was offered to me by my dealer when I was away.

I've just back from a holiday and was called, whilst away, by my dealer asking if I want to 'test the new sw'. I don't think it's an official release, as B&O UK are/were looking for people to test the new sw to see if it fixes their issue. I don't have it installed, clearly as I've been away.

I think lots have been said on the set - do we need to go through it all again? All I'm going to say is that I had the BV7-32 MKI and even the MKII was a bit step up. Far brighter, better contrast screen, for example. The new BV7-40 MKIII is a major step up from the original BV7-32. Massive difference in brightness, contrast etc. 4 x HDMI sockets

I was always told keep the ALT speakers together. I'm genuinely surprised by my BL3's. Indeed, I think/thought that they were more effective in a small room than my BL9's. I had to move the BL9's to the sitting room, although they are superb for movies. The BL3's are now used in combo with a BS4 in a small office and sound superb

Haven't we already covered ground on this 'fixed' sw 4.24? Someone one here installed it and it made no difference. It wasn't a new sw update, just a fix for installing the new sw update. I'm sure it was a mod on this forum. I think we'll need to wait until sw 4.25 or higher for a fix (if a fix is even intended!).

9 LEE: Personally i think the Plasma has a better, more natural image. Other way around in my (and my dealers) opinion. Compare a BV7-40 MKIII with a BV9 and the BV7 shows a more natural image, whereas the BV9 was much more 'deep' in its colour rendition, particularly with reds. However, I do prefer the smoother appearance of the plasma image
