Adam, it could be a fault in your Beomaster. It's not uncommon to see cracked solder joints in the connector bay and where the vertical connector board meet up with the horizontal. It won't take much lack of grounding to cause hum, but it could also be a fault in the preamp or power supply. Martin

Hi Mike, Great to see you in the forum. Yes, I'm sure it must be a solder joint in the power supply, at some connector and/or at the processor socket. Those are the most common places. Could also be a fault within the transformer module but that is rarer. Martin

It's normal for a Beogram 6006/8000/8002 to groan a bit while accellerating and braking. The eddy-current motor will unavoidably vibrate from the electromechanical forces and make a groan at startup, when changing speeds 33/45 and when stopping the platter rotation. Martin

Hasn't 16C1 or one of the other caps just shorted or gone open circuit ? It's quite common to see the caps on the power supply board (module 16) go bad, often blowing the fuse for the low voltage transformer too. I suggest you replace the lot. Note that 16C1 has two of its three negative pins used ! 16IC1 doesn't have to be a TEO1089, it

Yes, I suggest you try a direct grounding wire from chassis to chassis. Not all DIN/RCA adapters pass both ground connections through. Tonearm lowering faults like what you describe is very common and it takes a little explaining of how the deck works to fully understand why it acts the way it does; When you press play, the processor starts the whole

Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! No, I agree that doesn't look right. I'm sure that small belt will put too much stress on the servo motor spindle and/or the threaded shaft. A new belt will, no doubt, be tighter than the old one but the belt in that photo looks too tight and maybe even a little too thick. I couldn't help noticing that LPgear charges
