I am not sure that the frame is strong enough. The one on the wall was a pre-production model and had clearly had a hard life! The bottom of the bezel actually had a sharp edge from being either rested on the floor or slightly dropped - something that had been noted and a modification made to the production models. I am sure some system could be found

Actually MMC20 cartridges are no more difficult. Soundsmith ones are just the MMC1-4 range in a suitable shell and Axel does the retipping on old ones.

Hadn't realised that the wall mounted BV10 at the show had no AR - pleased about this as it was poor for reflections. The floor stand one was much better and had the AR so from that, I would rate it as essential. I had put the reflection down to the atypical surroundings but everything becomes clear!
I would be very interested to see the picture next to the Samsung TV that uses the same panel. This isn't a critisism or a complaint about price, I just think it would be interesting to see if B&O's DSP is really that much better than anyone elses and is equally true of the BV7.
Well B&O say

They are excellent! Good wide tape and fast tape speed makes for plenty of headroom and good quiet and dynamic recordings. On a 2400, the recording was much the same as source. However good tape is tricky to find and the tapes are a pain to handle! You'll not have a problem using them but I doubt they will become over used!! Hate to say this, but

In my view, the 4000 is good because of the heavy platter. The drive is by belt and in that way very similar to the 4002/4004/6000 but these have lighter platters. Not convinced the AC or DC motors make a lot of difference and I cannot hear the arm motor working. The motors on all these decks are completely silent, unlike that of my Thorens Beogram

The hinge is flush mounted on the wall and adds 8mm to the depth. There is a cable cover available for wall mounting as an option. As far as the floor stand is concerned, the cables are routed inside the stand with a port at the rear. Cabling on the TV is hidden behind a removable panel (rather cheap plastic it has to be said). I now have a delivery
This one is exactly what I want a set to look like............ Are you really saying Peter that prior to its launch, a design of this type with a speaker bezel occupying a large proportion of the TVs frontage is 'exactly' what you were looking for in a TV design? If so, all well and good, but as yet , it isn't

Agree completely about the wires - hopefully working on this. The problem with a built in source is that the trend is away from physical media and towards downloads and file based media. The BV10 on show with the floor stand had a TViX device attached to the stand behind the TV which can act as the source. As these devices are being updated and improved
i find it rather boring looking tbh it doesn't make any statement apart from 'i can't afford a bv7'
Completely disagree! I don't like the BV7 personally - looks like a lot of other TVs. This one is exactly what I want a set to look like and has a better picture - the 7-40 will no
