Great! Good to know. You mean the Disc Setup option in Preferences, right? Where you can set Audio Output? Just checked my MacBook Pro with Leopard, and it also first reacted when I attached the Toslink Cable, giving me the Digital Out Built-In option in addition to the System Sound Output default. But In Tiger I believe this was reset automatically

http://www.cartridgedb.com/ You'll find any pick-up cartridge made, apparently, with info. I was impressed by the inclusion of ancient B&O cartridges.

The problem may in fact be with Leopard. I have tried my Mac mini, which runs tiger and my MacBook Pro, which runs Leopard. When going to Audio MIDI Setup, picking Built-In Output (or TC Near for my digital chain - requires a Konnekt24D) I activate the Configure Speakers pane on both. However, when clicking the Configure Speakers on the Mini, I get

Beolab: iIt´s free to ask Where did you buy the Din connectors? Here in Sweden the salesmen in HiFi stores laugh if you ask them about Din cables! Because it´s an old technology ... They can't know about Naim, then, which is surprising. Go hunting at Flashback. They have lots of plugs for self-assembly, as well as finished plugs of most

Go to Audio MIDI Setup in Utilities and check that you have the right output, and that you have configured the speakers. Just guessing, as I haven't experienced your problem, but it could be that Leopard requires the speaker configuration.

Please, don't quibble with words. Digital information consists of bits arranged in bytes. The glory of digital is that it has a 1 or a 0 at its base - this makes the transfer of digital information very resilient, EVEN when there is interference. You mention that one should buy an oscilloscope in your first post in this thread, if one doubts the

dkresz: The trouble with the internet is that everyone believes is and is perceived as an "expert" as there is nothing that allows you to qualify one's credentials and 'know-how' on a topic. All I can say is that there is a lot of noise in these forums and not many people know what they are talking about. Not entirely certain as

The 75Ohms specification I'm aware of deals with digital cables, and is a measure of resistance (impedance) in the cable. Most s/pdif coax feeds are intended for a 75Ohms interconnect. I'm not aware that the same requirement holds for regular Powerlink cables. Of course, one should never stress the cables with very hard or repeated bending or

I don't know of such an animal, and really don't think you require it. I got DIN-RCA connectors from Flashback sales, but the B&O powerlink interconnects will do the job when you need to connect B&O components. (There's a lot of audiophile mumbo-jumbo about the need for thick cables, specially insulated, etc. - but you'll find

(From SmartHouse News) Panasonic's 50" plasma judged to be the best TV overall. And don't bother paying for an extended warranty on modern TVs - you won't need it. (Good news for B&O plasmas with Pana screens in them.) The Best & Worst TVs Identified: Consumer Report David Richards - Tuesday, 6 November 2007 When it comes to
