Just a thought - Have you cleaned up the protection circuit? My MS150s sounded appalling after a lay up and it was all due to the protection circuit.
-
It could be - the transformer can delaminate and this will cause a hum - my Beomaster 3000 hummed a fair bit but you couldn't hear it through the speakers. There will still be an earth in your deck - the cartridge has an earth connection. The connections to the amp will obviously be internal.
-
I suppose it could be the the sound of the arm motor moving the arm - mine really is silent . The 8000 series are rather more difficult to test in my experience as you can run a 4000 with no panels on and easily identify where noises come from.

Sounds like an earthing issue. There should be no buzz!

I know what you mean but comparison does have a useful purpose so that one can see which mix of qualities suits an individual. The mix is surely the point of the B&O viewing panel who comment on the mix provided.
-
Try a record you have listened to before with this cartridge - has the sound changed? I would have a look at the stylus with a microscope if possible.

The stand is much the same as the BV6-26 - there is an exit at the back at the base - the wires all went up the stand on the one at the show. I am afraid I do think wires are a big issue and hope to get something done about this!

I did discuss this with a high ranking UK official. He was very sympathetic to this idea and had considered a customer software solution a possibility. I think the original software was unstable but it is better so I think a change of heart might be possible. I do think they would be keen for the initial programming to be done by the dealer though simply

I think they may disappear because of the energy consumption. I am sure products will be judged more and more on energy efficiency and plasmas are not great in this regard.

Congratulations! How about a motorised easel stand for the BV10?!!
