  • Re: Beolab 9 Speakers

I think it would be prudent not to recommend BL5s for every occasion. Consider the kind of music you'd be using them for, and where you'll be using them. BL5s need space to breathe and be effective - Dave Moulton recommends at least a meter to any back or side wall. The BL9s are quite excellent if you don't have that kind of space - OR

  • Re: Beolab 9 Speakers

Every B&O dealer is supposed to offer home trials of the equipment. I would suggest that you get your new dealer to set up a pair of BL9s in your listening room. When they're in place, do try moving them about to find the best position. It could be that the ones you listened to were set up wrong -- or it could be that the BL9s can't deliver

kawo: Hi, all my movies are in the movie folder at the same disk . Also I installed Leopard on a blank disk and DVDpedia afterwards. However, FrontRow does the job quite nice for the moment as it can play Video_TS files and you also can get a preview image of the DVD cover next to the file list. thank you for your help! kawo My localnet addresses got

dilznik, you write: Okay, the resolution problem isn't on the Mini. It's the latest revision. It's the 1080i that's the problem. I bought too early/cheap. If it was 1080p then I'd have no problems since the Mini would know it natively over the DVI. But... it doesn't work out that way for me. What connection do you have? I use

  • Re: 100 hours to "play in" Beolab speakers?

Anywhere one asks this question, you'll find different opinions. However, when it comes to loudspeakers with large subwoofers/woofers or other moving parts, I think one is justified in expecting a setting-in period. BL3, for instance, gets a better mid- and bottom after a while. I think it is because of the large rubber "vents" that are

  • Re: Test: MacBook Pro with FrontRow vs Toshiba XE1 for DVD play back

A few pointers, to help you ensure pitch perfect sound out of the Mac. In your DVD Player, Preferences>Disk Setup>CHECK Disable Dolby Dynamic Range Compression. Always make certain that all volume settings are at maximum. With the Toslink connected it should default to that, but just check to make certain that you don't have a lower volume

Yeah, I've been wondering which cat name they'll run next: the Garfield! Ozelot, Lynx. Cats have cool names.

  • Re: if you're having airport reception issues with leopard - here's a fix !!

Peter: Can't find that! I have one of the new Airport devices though. Hi Peter, Airport Utility you'll find in the Utility folder. Once you've launched that go to Manual. In the Summary, click the Channel line. That will open the Pane for the Wireless settings. Now click Wireless Option and check whether Interference Robustness is activated

kawo: Anyone tried DVDpedia with Leopard? On my MBP the link to the video_ts folders does not start the DVD player anymore. Any thoughts? thank you kawo Hi Kawo, I have been holding off installing Leopard on my Mac mini, but went ahead and did it this afternoon, and I think I know what your problem is. (That is, if you're using an external hard

  • Re: Where to find High End Powerlink MK3 cables?

dkresz: Beolab, are you sure it was not the pacebo effect? Or perhaps you've had a couple of glassess of wine before hand? Only kidding mate, I am glad you have reverted back to the original question of this forum. Yes, you can custom make the 8-pin Powerlink cables using studio grade Van Damme OFC multicore pro cables. I guy in UK made them for
