• Re: Please help! Beolink 5000 no contact

Nice coincidence with your avatars, guys - I first thought you were talking with yourself, macjonny (Sorry I can't help with the problem. Is there a disorder called 'icon blindness'? I have it, and would like to claim discovering it on my name... )

  • Re: Beolab 8000 daisychained?

Unless you want to build it, you need to buy it. Sounds Heavenly does carry one as well.

  • Re: beovision 4-152 soon?

Quite frankly, when it comes to bigger sizes than 50 inch, why not choose the projector way? So much easier to buy, setup, and..replace if it breaks down!
Because a projector would look too funny on the bv4-103 motorized stand...
Frankly, TVs and projectors are for
The soldiers have appreciated massively Mika!
I thought the soldiers were regular Kay Whatshername artefacts instead of anything B&O specific, let alone B&O products?

  • Re: B&O prices through the years

I recently bought me a Cona and just received it. It is pretty much immaculate, so much that I suppose it would've received a £250ish price tag if any of the companies with AV in their name had gotten it first Which got me thinking that it isn't actually too far from the original 1990 price (£159) converted to current money (ending

  • Re: Wanted please: IR receiver / sensor / eye / any 455KHz photodiode for Beosytem 2 or Beolink Passive

Seems to be out of stock at Farnell, and no longer manufactured I ordered them before from shop.embedit.de, but they don't list them anymore either. I still have a few but I'm now quite reluctant to part with them! Anyway, their reception sensitivity is clearly worse than a B&O receiver built from discrete components. Perhaps you could just

  • Re: Beogram 6000 disaster

Not me. I think it was auric? Anyway the service bulletins suggest a few fixes, including replacing the RPY 58 with a phototransistor, and others that resemble the ad-hoc RC filter additions I used to circumvent the problem. When I debugged mine, the encoder circuit really was getting spurious pulses apparently out from nowhere, so it probably was indeed

  • Re: New to B&O need help with BM6500 and Beo4

No problem - it's really not something you could work out via trial and error! Hope FM reception will be fine as well with a proper antenna. Once the signal level is adequate, you should see "locked" light up on the front panel when a channel is correctly tuned.

  • Re: Beogram 6000 disaster

The only purpose of that diode is to protect the driver transistor from reverse voltage spikes from the solenoid, it shouldn't have any effect on that problem. I'd try cleaning the microswitch contacts first. (and I agree your current solenoid is fine!) PS. Just re-downloaded the service manual since I didn't have it on this computer. Seems

Well done Chris. I wouldn't feel too happy with myself after looting somebody's possessions either!
