Nooooo! The white finish is VERY delicate. There is not a lot you can do to restore it other than a respray with car paint.

Member Dillen can supply a new belt as can B&O dealers. I would recommend replacing the belt before meddling with the speed adjustment. The belt is common to all B&O decks from the 3000 onwards.
