The BeoSystem 3 is a supermassive improvement over the BeoSystem 1, in terms of performance (sound and vision, the differences are huge) and general functionality. IMO, B&O should have named the BeoSystem 3 something else which doesn't relate it to the BeoSystems 1 & 2, it's capabilities are so massively superior...

You'd be better off connecting via Component, then you could use the 'YPbPr' option in the connections menu.

I do find that bit of a weird recording, the original is just so much better and more expressive. The Orbit version seems to flatten it off into a dull, samey dynamic. At the moment, I'm listening to House Of Pain - Jump About from the Hexstatic mix DVD. Awesome song

RE the BeoLab 9s and a BeoLab 2, I'd stay without the 2. The 9s have wonderfully controlled and 'smooth' bass (although it's punchy when it needs to be). The BeoLab 2 is comparatively slower and 'boomier'. Amazing for movies, but for music it just seems to get in the way a bit. BeoLab 9s go plenty deep enough for music and are plenty powerful enough

Under the connections menu for the BeoCentre 2 socket (whichever one it's in), you've got the option to 'Auto On' or something along those lines, which will make the TV switch on automatically when it detects a signal.

Oh no Samsung is definitely worth having, and outside of a B&O, I'd choose a Samsung LCD over any other brand without even blinking (obviously having already seen the different offerings). However, the B&O TVs are streets ahead of the rest of the market in terms of picture quality, IMO at least.

Bear in mind though that the BeoLab 5s have a very different sonic distribution pattern to any other speaker (only speaker with ALT on both midrange and treble), they will fair up a lot better than 99% of other speakers in 'bad' rooms. And please, the rooms in the catalogues? Even the rooms in the pictures Naim advertises with are far from ideal. The
