Is it possible the TV has gone into pin code protection? It will give audio I believe, but display no image (although it should ask for the PIN number on-screen). Try a 'normal' source such as TV or DVD...

Actually I'd say the BeoLab 4 is more expensive, but the BeoLab 3 costs more!

To be honest, I wouldn't want to use them as rear speakers especially if BeoLab 9s are the mains! 4s don't match the sound of 9s at all (very different 'voicing') and a pair of BeoLab 3s would do a much better job.

I always preferred it with the mirrored button panel too, but I suppose they got rid of this because of finger prints and scratches...

If they are stolen, then they'll be stuck in PIN code protection, so ask if you can see/hear them working first. If he refuses, then the likelihood is they're stolen. You don't want to let it run 'without enough RAM' for too long. It absolutely thrashes the hard drive and they do have a tendency of failing! Our family PC is gobbling up almost all of it's 512 mb of RAM, and as a result, the hard drive is as good as dead. Failing motherboard etc... means it's probably time for a replacement...
