I like them both! But if had to choose between them... 4000! Better sound, look great, and better placement options. Curveball: How about a pair of BL3000/4500/5000? I like them for a link room as they have displays!

Welcome to BeoWorld! In simplest terms, no. A BL1000 will not work w/ a 5000. With that said, there is a code converter that would allow using one. Problem is: the converters are tough to find today. You will need a MCP5000. A T5000 is also nice to have for convenience sake. As far as the stack systems... the BL1000 will work with 5500 and up. We should
