Hi Chris The Pentavoxes cope really well with the BM 8000. For a laugh I tried to crank the 8000 up to 6 on the volume, when I was listening to 'Regulate' by Warren G (very bass-laden track), and my eyes started aching, teeth chattering, and ears popping at about 5.2ish. Don't bother changing anything! No doubt the Healthcare Commission will either reconfigure its own logo in time, or be reorganised/rebranded as so often happens with these NDPBs. The HC itself came out of the Commission for Healthcare Improvement, so you can see where I'm going with this......... I work in the sector in case you were wondering

My personal favourite is the 4000/4002/4004/6000 series as the build quality is something else (try picking one of the AC models up!). There's also a lot to be said for the 8002 series, though I do not have one of these. I have a 5005, and the build quality is not the same as my 4002, but it's still a sweet sounding (if a little bass light)

Nice one Kevin! I use a CDX with my Beomaster 8000, Beogram 4002 and Beovox Pentas and I love it! A really warm sound that some here have likened to a vinyl deck, and some have blamed on distortion

Peter: That is only on the FM only 400, 500 and 505 models though. The 600, 700 and 707 use the ball bearing and magnet tuning scale with no presets. That won't be me then. I have a 600!

Hi Kevin When you talk abour presets, do you mean on the Beolit 600/500/700/707 series? I don't have my 600 in front of me, so could you explain how this works as I don't understand (therefore highlighting the fact that a FAQ on the Beolits is a good idea!)? John

Peter: Have had at one time a CDX, CD4500, CD50, 9500 and a CD7000 in one room. I have a BC2 now. Have heard all the others at other times. I find it very difficult to differentiate them! I know this sounds ridiculous, but I like the sound of the CDX! Probably down to distortion! Wouldn't be surprised if it was similar to the reason valve amplifiers
