Hi there, and welcome to Beoworld. I'm sorry no-one has got back to you before now. I guess it is because it is unusual to have Beocom 1 and 600s mixed. As far as I am aware, they are identical, but named differently for different markets. Check that there are not any other handsets registered to your base, it can only handle 6 handsets. Try 'removing'

Missing pixels is almost certainly going to need a new screen. £25 sounds about right, and I'm pretty sure that most dealers will replace it without a labour charge, as it's a five minute job. Andy T.

Just before you give up, try pressing Light, Light. Or even Light, Play (on Beolink 1000) If it doesn't come on now, then there is a fault.

Thanks everyone for your concern. Yes Keith, there is definately raster. The e-mail I got, was from Dave at King Street, who has kindly offered me a 28" Avant VCR for nowt, to tide me over until I get my 32" fixed. Collecting it tomorrow. I disconnected everything except the power cord and left it over night, to no avail. Good memory Jeff
