[quote user="Tom Morgan"] Hi Peter, It's been a little while since I have been on BeoWorld, as I have benn searching for so long for a pair of P3's, with little success. Now that I have kinda settled for a pair of P2's, it was time to jump back into the fold. Was I right on my switch settings using the Speaker link cables? I hope

There is a low stand and a higher stand - this is a big set though and the higher stand might be too much for some people - hence the choice. I think it looks like any other BV7 - just nearer !

Another independent comparison review going on in next day or so. I'll do a link when it is on.

Agree with above - lovely set up.

As Mika says, you need variable line level. The iPod dock has this and a remote. Beolab 5s actually have a remote facility themselves but they are about £10,000!

You need fully wired or thick powerlink cables. Lifestyle can send you some and you will get the correct type. Penta 2 and 3s are just about identical except for the displays.

The 1200 and 1600 do look good and are not bad tape recorders - high end domestic. The 2000 and 2400 are semi-professional though and a class above. A good tape recording is indistinguishable from the source. The 2400 is built to an incredible standard - think Beolab 5000 or Beogram 4000 and then think even better and heavier! Not as pretty though!

Camel - The Snow Goose - I actually recorded this from Spotify first as I remembered it from school and have just bought the CD. First thing to play through my DAC Magic!

From your reply I would suggest you get Beolab 3s - if these are what turn you on, then get some. You won't be disappointed. The reason I asked about the outputs on the Sony is that you can use this whilst waiting to save up for your music system. You can actually run Beolab 3s from an iPod if you really want!

Why do you want B&O? Sound quality will be better than your present set up mainly due to the speakers. I imagine the Sony amplifier is probably quite good though a model number could be helpful. Does it have a pre-amp output? What sources are you using? Is it your PC or Mac and the amplifier? If so, maybe all you need is a Beoport which can have
