The loudness on/off problems you may have read about only refer to usage with Beomaster receivers. I'm not too familiar with the MX3500 menu structure, but I believe loudness is just another setting in there and you will be able to navigate it with any version of Beolink 1000 - all you need is the SOUND button. By the way, what do you mean with

Obviously keep the remote (I guess 2802 already had a Beolink 1000 instead of the earlier video only V Terminal?). It will be useful if you get another piece of B&O kit, or you could just flog it on eBay to compensate for your troubles
