Personally, I think B&O are sensible, waiting for all this to be over. A relatively recent DVD with a BeoCenter 2 and BeoVision 9 will fool you into thinking you're watching an HD signal - stunning picture!

Sky would give you a much better image, even better, Sky-HD would give you a picture which would really begin to better the BeoVision 1 in a lot of ways, although you may not want to pay the price for Sky.

They do have a tendency of sounding flat and lifeless, usually quite dull. They're still very impressive for their size though... Adding a BeoLab 2 will give you more bass, but won't make things any more 'three-dimensional'. BeoLab 8000s will improve things significantly, but as others have said, their sound characteristics are similar to the 6000s
