You have a PM Graham. Chris.

Heyup John, I'm expecting delivery of a MMC20S shortly, it would be doing us both a favour if you borrowed it as I have nothing to test it on. I'll let you know if/when it arrvives. Chris.

Good idea - I can easily supply my stunning MC120.2's if needs be, Id be interested to see (hear) how they compare to the MS150's which are going to be my next project when I manage to track a pair of old dogs at the right price A quick backtrack to the OP. IMO penta's are easily the best pound for pound speakers on the market at current

And a very happy birthday from me Peter. Chris.

I agree with Kevin's sentiments and my heart goes out to you - his obviously loving family. Although sad this is a very heartwarming story which makes the work that all of the Beoworld family put in seem all worthwhile. Also a big thanks for your generous offer. Chris.

Foam rot has been discussed many times on Beoworld and there seems to be no satisfactory explaination as to what causes or hastens it. It is certainly a problem due to age and the natural breakdown of the foam structure but what outside conditions influence this is yet to be agreed upon. It will certainly impede on the sound quality and left unattended

Very generous Philippe, I'm sure somone has some VHS they need to convert to DVD, and this is just the machine for the job. An excellent video player. Chris.

Beomatt: Thanks a million for the advice its the older 5240 model In that case you want to go for an SP12 as this is the best of the range. Chris.
-
Compatability of cartridge depends on which model Beogram 2000 you have. The 1970's BG2000 will accept the SP range (except the SP15 which has a totally different fitting and you probably won't find in any case). The stylus can be replaced on these cartridges. The later 1980's BG2000 will accept any of the MMC1 to MMC5 range of cartridges

John's absolutely right - the store is very difficult to find unless you know Leeds very well (and not that easy even if you do!). A real shame as it is a cracking store. Chris.
