One of the issues with Conas is that the cross over frequency is quite high and they are, to an extent, directional. Therefore the stereo idea is not daft. Not sure I would use them with Pentas as the frequency range will not be extended but each to his own. The Cona was very much designed to work with C/CX speakers as they cover the range 40 - 195

I used an optical cable from the PowerMac to the DAC Magic and then a phono to mini jack into the Beoport.

It varies! Most computer sound cards are not the very best - which Mac do you have? Macs seem better than most PCs but it is something worth considering. DACs in B&O will be for the CD players and the BS5 and these are all rather good!
-
What else have you in the room and what option is it set to? Surprised that the volume is not working though - What are the speakers attached to?
-
Bass is fine in 8000s - however I find Pentas better balanced and my M100s and MS150s give far more detail in the bass - but it is all relative! A Beolab 2 would be great as a Low Frequency Effect channel in a surround sound set up, but is not necessary for music.
-
That will work - you may want a better DAC than the one in your Mac - I have just got a DAC Magic which seems rather good. But I would try your suggestion first and see if it is acceptable.
-
Have you found the handbooks ?
-
I would use Apple TV - I believe the Beo5 can be made to work this directly. There are a few developments coming in the next year which will probably suit you so I would go for a chheaper option and take stock next year.

You need a donor deck. The good news is that all these decks are essentially the same. We will need to know which part so we can see if anyone has the bit!

Do it again and then press Store twice. Should do it!
