The specs say the BS5 will play unprotected AAC, which is what the 'm4a' files are. I'm not aware that iTunes has ever sold mp3.

Hit Start, Run, type \\servername and hit enter. The fact that it doesn't show in network places isn't really big news. If your friend with a mac could see and access it, then it's working fine.

New EPG will arrive as and when. It's rolled out to all Thomson and Pace boxes already, most probably Samsung next, then Amstrad. There is now no longer any sound control from the EPG. http://www.digitalspy.com/forums/showthread.php?p=32246252

As far as I'm aware, ML-sense (blue-white) isn't actually used.

A digital ethernet-cable based system is only a rumour, but I'm sure I read it somewhere on this site. In addition to that, though, CAT5 is extremely useful. You can buy multiplexers (admittedly expensive) that can shove HDMI, analogue audio/video etc down CAT5 cable digitally. Or you can use it for traditional wired networking purposes - new B&O
-
The only rumour I've heard is that it 'will happen' but no real idea when. I assume if and when it does happen they'll have to release some sort of MLHD->ML+RF converter, else it'll render a load of older B&O kit fairly useless for link purposes. If you're running ML + RF, I'd run some CAT5 alongside just to add a

Think of it as a zip file - it doesn't matter if you use Winzip, 7zip, WinRAR or whatever - you're going to get the same result. It doesn't matter who or what expand it - it either works, or it doesn't. 'Bitstream' is not a format, it's just a method of passing on the compressed stream as it appears on the disc (or file,
Are you sure? I was also told use PCM. Also, PCM is supported with the BS3! Bitstream is for poor TVs who can't decode their own audio. Do not use Bitstream!
On the contrary, Bitstream will pass the undecoded stream to the TV for it to decode. PCM means it sends an decoded stream. There should be zero difference

From how I have read the spec, it supports TrueHD, DTS, DD and PCM. Not DTS-HD MA. A TrueHD stream contains an underlying DD stream for decoders that don't support it. Similarly, a DTS-HD MA stream contains an underlying DTS stream. I don't think I own any blu-ray's with DTS-HD MA, but any that did would get output as straight DTS. I would

It's my understanding that in order for this to work seamlessly, the PS3 will need to be able to output on both HDMI and SCART at the same time - and I'm not sure it can. Else you either have SCART permanently (not adviseable, as the PS3 looks fairly awful), or change the settings on the PS3 each time you want to view it in another room.
