As the default format is MP3 192 kbps, did anyone try to copy MP3 files at a higher bitrate, by removing the drive & connecting it to a computer? I find it hard to believe that the internal codec is only capable of reading MP3 192; if yes, do you think it's possible to upgrade

No, I meant the BS5 would become obsolete when the Encore is released. Unless you want to burn your plasma BeoVision with a static image of BeoMedia 5 showing your CD cover, I don't see the point in keeping the 2 systems in the catalogue. If the BeoNet is not released at the same time as BS5 Encore, it may be a different story of course.
