  • Re: Beogram 4002 Not Functioning Properly After Capacitor Replacement

Assuming all electrical functions are fine, there is one remaining cause which will give this result. The step sensor – in the picture – is misaligned. Do this as a last resort, because it is extremely finicky and time-consuming. Untighten slightly the screw which secures the metal belt around the cylinder, so that the metal belt is free

Jacques "I don't advise replacing with LED's by the way, don't believe what some say!" I respect your opinion to differ, but such a blanket statement as this can get you into hot water. Yes, I have been doing the LED replacement on tens of BG4002/6000's for well over a decade, and they all work flawlessly, as expected. What

No idea - I haven't opened a newer B&O component to determine! Maybe Martin knows

Robert If you are feeling courageous, you can do what I did to a BC9300 and BC9500. Well worth it, as Martin knows. See my link here: http://www.condoraudio.com/wp-content/uploads/Projects/BeoCenter-8000-8500-9000-9300-9500-Receiver-Upgrade-Repair.pdf Menahem

  • Re: What Are You Working On Now ?

Regarding the screws, I know what you all mean. And B&O didn't use screws which are easy to hold, even with a magnetic screwdriver.... BUT... I have a better idea - the B&O screws (actually threaded bolts), are the exact same type which are used in millions of computers to secure the CD/DVD drives. Ask any local computer tech, if you can

The CD4 switch at the OFF position activates the function of a standard Stereo RIAA amplifier. The CD4 switch at the CD4 position activates the quadraphonic decoding circuits. The MMC4000 is not capable of picking up the 30kHz carrier-signal on a CD-4 LP, so you don't ever have to put the switch at the CD4 position. Only if you have the B&O

  • Re: About the signal path capacitors

OK, I got your theory, and I understand it! Just my ears tell me differently sometimes! And I do like bass - lot's of it! I couldn't find any commercial subwoofer which I liked, so I built my own - 7cu ft, 2 ports, 900W RMS with TS2000 driver, Fs 17Hz. Perfect! Menahem

Agent It appears we are talking at cross-purposes here. Believe me, I know the difference between 1. COUPLING - which transfer the AC signal down the signal path from source to loudspeakers. I never forget the old saying - No capacitor is the best capacitor - applies especially to the signal path COUPLING capacitors. To approach that true condition

  • Re: Beogram 4002 cable identification

Hi BeoStick If you have the CD4 demodulator, your connector should look like the picture: Red - Right Rear + Blue - Left Rear + Yellow - Left Front + Brown - Right Front + Their Minus signal is the common SIGNAL ground - the silver wire layer. The outer copper layer is ground to the casing of your receiver/amplifier. The silver wire layer and outer

  • Re: About the signal path capacitors

Thank you Martin. I am always willing to be corrected when wrong, however, being an experimenter, and tenacious to find the best solution - I rarely give up - I have found IN PRACTICE, that swapping and experimnenting with COUPLING capacitors sometimes makes a big difference in sound. Yes, I have found that in a certain circuit, putting a Wima 4.7uF
