  • Literary Reference to B & O

I've just begun reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins... Thus far an utterly fascinating read... on pg 90 of the hardcover edition he writes: "When we hear a sound, it is not faithfully transported up the auditory nerve and relayed to the brain as if by a high-fedility Bang and Olufsen." (In this section of the book, Dawkins remarks

  • Re: Small but perfectly formed!

Well, I am not in the same league as many folks here on B & O, I like many of the more recent products... Although I have owned my share of the classics through the last 5 years or so... My current very short list: Beosound 9000 Beogram 6500 turntable: I think this is a design classic (though it is similar to other TTs in the series) I know: boring

  • Re: BL4000 floor stands

I had the same problems with the 4000 stands, but my quibble isn't with the tight fit at all. My quibble is with the utter difficulty in threading the wires through the stands, and then mounting them behind the metal bracket on the back of the speaker. B& O really must be thinking in the Zen Buddhist philosohpy of nothing gained without suffering

  • Re: Finally - Entry Level TV coming to US BV 8 32" around 4000$ 1st quarter 2008

Wait! SCART is used with a BC2? I wasn't aware of any US made TV which has SCART inputs (I am prepared to eat my hat). In fact, I hadn't a clue as to what SCART was until I started reading about European standards. -Sal

Thanks, soundproof for that wonderful and informative post. The more I have been thinking about the TV options next year, the more I have been leaning toward the cheaper solution. Obviously, the WAF is easier with the BV8 as well as the practicality factor (living in a smallish condo downtown in a city). I don't mind the lack of surround with the

  • Re: Serene + Beocom2 + Beocom6000 + PSTN Beoline

Unless things have changed, I am afraid the 6000s are totally incompatible with the 1 or 2 and the PSTN base. But I'm here in the States so the EU may have better luck. Again I think that when B & O released the 1 (to replace the 6000s), they took away backwards compatibility for the 6000 as well as it's forward compatibility. A great way

  • Re: Beolab 6000 or 8000 - your opinion.

I had an Avant for years connected with BL8000s front with a BL2, and the sound was AMAZING. Maybe because when I parted ways with the 8000s, I had the 6000s up front with the BL2, I didn't notice much of a difference. The latest combo I had before parting ways with the Avant (in prep for a new TV next year) I had BL3s with a BL2 combo, and it sounded

  • Re: Chicago B&O Store has "lost it's lease"

I have had nothing but good experiences from the folks at the ChiTown store. It is sad to see Tom Berichon go, but Pat will do a great job I am sure. Hopefully Joe is still there. Looking forward to visiting the store next year (hopefully with a credit card in hand for a TV demo and eventual purchase!) Exciting times! -Sal
