Sollte dann

@Soren:
BTW, I've been shopping around for wirewound R 0.39 Ohm for my 901, there are 2 types, 1 square ceramic white, 1 looks like a fireproof
Yes there are 2 different ones in the 901. Looks like one of them is bound to burn in case of a fault in the power output stage. That's the grey, smaller
100/35 = 100uF, 35V right?
Yep. First uF, then voltage. I'm not worried about the middle one in mine; the bulge is a sort of rupture joint "valve" (I had to look that one up in my dictionary ) where pressure can exit if getting too high. If it's not open it's still ok. Modern caps have a sort
1) Should I desolder the caps or is applying heat to unstable caps not safe? Or should I just clip the wires?
I just desoldered them - no risc to explode as they look like they have no more capacity anyway Might smell a little strange though - open your windows
2) What are [or who makes

As I've missed the 2007 chance me & Susan would be in it, too. No timely restrictions (yet). Looks like it will be overbooked within minutes Gunther

Hello Rich, I recently bought an BM4000 and it had very weak output on both speakers. Reason was - as you could imagine - a cap problem. The 5000u / 70V had a measured 0.12uF capacity left. Looking at the bottom it was clear it had vented... I still haven't received the spare parts but using a 470u/100V (biggest cap I had with >=70V) brought

Hi Soren, Any progress? I think the TIP122 / 127 will be fine, their Umax specs are better than the 120/125 that I used. Don't think they will sound different. And the 1N4148's and rest of the semiconductors are not a real price factor. Those ERO caps are not that critical; cap problems are mostly related to electrolytics. And you can use the

Here's what I found in my (german) "from vision to legend"- booklet (the small one, not the "big book" which I don't own...) so the BEOmünster seems to be not uncommon But, frankly speaking, I didn't recognize that before it was mentioned here On the other hand, on another station there seems to be an "A"
