Beware ... some of the later Tuner boards do not seem to be compatible ... They look very different with a half size unit and no NICAM board. Neil

Absolutely not ... whats the value if it cannot be used! TVs have a finite lifetime, they do not last for ever ... even if unused ... use it now, whilst it is worth using. In fact, it might even be that it will need servicing before it will operate to spec ... Neil

Well, MX8000 tube now successfully transplaned to LX5500 ... what a marked improvement a new tube makes :) Now for the chassis service and cosmetic overhall. Neil

Appears to be fully working, but a few dots missing off the display ... still very readable. Prefer viewing and acceptance/collection, but will post at buyers risk. OIRO £75 Neil

Deflection IC is very prone to cracked joints.

Yes, my guess is that it is from this era ... it is in fact an early home cinema control unit ... curtains, projector, screen, lights control etc. On the back there were 3 (yes three) LC2s mounted ... these have been removed ;) So ... any takers? Neil

4 pin din, like an MX stand ... but not for an MX stand. As I have disassembled part of it ... I do not wish to plug it in until i have made it safe. I get the feeling that Andy knows exactly what it is! Neil

They look like powerlink sockets ... but they are not ... some strange 4 wire interface.
