• Re: Which power link cables

Mk3 works for all speakers. However, my dealer recommends mk2 (thick cables) for longer runs ( >= 3 m) - even for the ice powered speakers (where the manuals say mk3). Against his recommendations, I went with a 3 m mk3 to for some BL4s that I have - because I wanted the thin cable because it is easier to hide - and haven't experienced any issues

  • A couple questions (long)

I recently bought a BV8-40 and am now planning to reprogram my Beo5. I finished my last programming about 2 years ago so I haven't really been paying attention to Beo5 developments... although I did browse this forum last night to come up to speed on the current state of things... I have a couple questions: 1) In the beo5 config tool, there are
given that Trip want any negative discussion to cease, because it might cost him on the bottom line. You don't see a problem with that, but me being private, uh, oh, the horror!
Trip didn't say this. I believe his call was for more constructive criticism, less "I don't like it because it's

  • Re: BeoVision 8-40 image size

I have my comcast cable box set to "native" output. I don't want the cheap cable box messing with the signal fed to my expensive TV. In fact, I replaced my cable box and got weird green shadows on some shows until I set the cable box output to native (it may have been 480i or 480p by default). I haven't changed the "format"

  • Re: Where is BeoSound8 made?
How about comparing it to the Beolab 3500? You can use the BS8 as a link speaker and it also has the ability to be used as a dock. And it sounds as least as good as the 3500 and is cheaper.
Wouldn't you really need to compare the BL3500 to the BS8 + BL Active? Of course, the BL3500 features real aluminum

  • Re: Studio Master WMA from Linn Music won't play on Beosound 5

I have no experience with this, but the fact that the BS5 plays the file at all makes me believe it is a problem with the file, not the BS5. Normally, with digital formats, they work or they don't. I've not seen an unsupported format work a little bit. Does Linn provide a checksum for the file so you can check if any bits got messed up in transit

  • Re: Beolink Wireless as ML

As long as you have the software upgrade from a couple years ago, it is my understanding that the wireless will support "Wireless ML" (although, you cannot connect speakers to the Wireless RX in this mode). However, I do not know if this allows for bi-directional audio (I think not since it was really designed for link room applications where

I do have to reiterate 10%'s comment: What a contradiction it is to complain about a Chinese made iPod dock! China is awesome for iPods, but HOW DARE B&O!!?!?! I remember a time when Apple products were designed AND manufactured in California. Times change. Life is what it is, not always what we wish. If you don't like it, don't buy

  • Re: IR "blaster" for BV8?

Thanks for making me re-test this. My son told me about the problem... I just tried the same thing, and, yes, the remote works fine. I believe the root problem is that when the TV first turns on, it is not very responsive to the remote. He tried changing channels from the bad seat and it didn't work so he figured it was because the IR sensor is
