kawo: The number I heard during our visit in Struer was approx. 100k TV's across all models per year. Karsten I appreciate that B & O reduce manufacturing costs by buying in their panels from Panasonic, and Samsung, but without cross subsidy from other parts of their business operations can their TV operation be viable with alleged annual sales

Is not a TV's performance with HD only part of the criteria of what constitutes the "best TV"? Given that most peoples viewing will be composed of SD material, should this not be brought into the equation when discussing the BV7's performance capabilities? Incidentally, why no mention of Loewe when discussing LCD TVs?

moxxey: soundproof: Pioneer is discontinuing 42" plasmas, and is focusing on 50" and up in sizes, as that's where the market wants to go .. Are you sure the 'market' demands the larger size? My 40" looks HUGE in my reasonably large sitting room. My mother was discussing a new TV at the weekend and only wants something up to

There may be various reasons why one would buy a B & O TV,but surely one of them would have to be that it's Picture Quality is second to none. Can one in all honesty say that this is the case? With the rapidly advances in both LCD,and Plasma, technology is it wise to consider a modern TV as a long term investment as one might have done with a

Does the camera/sensor measure at various points along it's arc,or in just one position? Is a single position sufficient to measure accurately colour temperature? Is colour temperature the only factor determining Picture Quality vis a vis an ageing panel?

Given that Toshiba added 24fps capability to their 1080p HD DVD players by way of a firmware update, what is preventing B & O from doing likewise for the Beosystem 3? Is it perhaps that the processing in the Beosystem 3 is so good that it does not require a 24fps option? I discovered that connecting a Toshiba E1 (maximum 1080i resolution) to my Pioneer

A14BEO: Aren't the Panasonic units which make up the BV4 slightly upgraded to those found in Comet and Curry's? I alsways thought that the manufacturers of the "Donor" screens had to sign a clause stating that they weren't allowed to use the technology in their own units? It is my understanding that B & O use a Panasonic commercial

Bv7Mk3,and kawo, many thanks for you comments. I was very impressed with a lengthy shop demo of the beosystem 3 that I had late last year,so I will arrange for a home demo. Assuming there are no problems,it will be interesting to compare the Beosystem 3's processing against that of my Pioneer LX608. Terry.

kawo: I have both a TH-50PH and a JVC HD1. No handshaking problems with both (furtunately). The advantage of the Panasonic commercial line is the RS232 control by the BS3. However, if you are able to strech your budget a little bit further you should take a look at the new Pioneer Kuro line up. Black levels are breathtaking! (and the look is nicer

To be honest, having searched the forum,I am confused as to whether it is possible or not. In general, can the Beosystem 3 be used, and is it fully compatible, with a third party panel? Specifically with Pioneer 8G model? If not fully compatible, what are the areas of omission? Thanks.
