  • Re: Replacement BS2 Battery = Massive Rip Off >:|

[quote user="moxxey"] [quote user="j0hnbarker"] Just been down to my local dealer to try and get a replacement BS2 battery and can't believe how much B&O want for a replacement. Bearing in mind the BS2 is still in production, how can £67 for a rechargeable battery (that doesn't include fitting) be justified???

  • Re: More than AV: any opinions?

It is a shame that this thread is being used to air grievances. In very simple terms from a customer perspective morethanav, iconic-av and lifestyle-av are all good sellers, given that they sell B&O they wouldn't get away with anything else. I would happily deal with any of them. Simon

[quote user="KingStreet"] Graham, There have been various threads on here about modifying older products - adding MP3 docks, CD's, DVD, new screens etc.....all interesting stuff. So, if you would like an Avant 28" VCR, curved screen version in silver to tinker with, then its all yours, FOC just come and get it. Loads pf potential

  • Re: Beovox Uniphase S45's vs S45.2's

Graham I have a pair of S45-2's that I am not currently using that sound identical to my recapped ones that I use every day. (There was a clear difference prior to recapping). If you would like to borrow them for some A:B comparisons you would be welcome . That said Martin's capacitor kits are not expensive so you may wish to recap anyway! Simon

  • Re: My new toy

[quote user="Medogsfat"] The sound is really very good and works particularly well with CX speakers. I think C40's were the recommended speakers so that doesn't surprise me. There is no distortion at all even when the volume is pushed quite high. Perfect for this type of application and would also work well in a smallish room as a

  • Re: Small beoprize ( will be sent via Lee ) if anyone can tell me where this is......before Monday.

To be honest the significance of the name of the picture passed me by completely! I had remembered David posting about giving three Beovsion 7s to a music project in Manchester so when I saw three of them on a wall I just needed to sift through King Street's recent posts! Being first was just a matter of being on the forum when I should have been

  • Re: A Beocenter 2200 world of pain

That is an exceptionally generous offer from Peter, but far from out of character! If you don't drive it would certainly be worth hiring a car for a day and sweet-talking a friend into driving you up the Motorway and back! If you decide to do that I have a pair of Beovox S30's (The 1970's resin-backed version) that I replaced with my S45

  • Re: A Beocenter 2200 world of pain

I agree with the other posts. Despite looking good, the gubbins of the 2200 is an inexpensive Japanese Music Centre and they are much harder to work on than the 'real' B&O from the period. The price you paid would be OK for one in full working order (including a working cartridge) but a 2200 with multiple problems isn't really worth
