  • Re: My experience with BeoLab 1 *warning this is a LONG post*

Hi Dave, I am a Melbourne based Beolab 1 owner. I also wrote an article on the old forum on the speaker. Focusing on careful placement and setup without which you miss the best of the speakers. They are great speakers hope you enjoy. beoaus.

  • Re: Beovision 103"

For what its worth I recently viewed the Panasonic panel. It was displaying a Blu-Ray Surfing movie in a very bright retail surf store. The picture quality was ordinary from a reasonable distance. I wonder what the Hotel has planned for the Beovision.

  • BM5/BS5 Setup in link rooms

I am unsure on how the setup would work in a link configuration. Seeing as I access music mostly from other areas of the house how would I use the BM5. Would the display be shown on link TV's so that I could access the music, photos etc from there? If MOTS only works thru the BS5 how would I access this without a BS5 in the room if I had one at

  • Re: Need advice!

You are lucky to be offered a discount at all. Here its just not available. Go to the table with a figure that you are prepared to pay. 15% would close a deal with most people intent on purchasing Beolab 5's. Make sure delivery and install is included... Good luck, beoaus...

  • Re: BeoMedia 1 - What updates can we expect?

I nearly bought one based on sales approach that it would be updated and developed as part of its product offering. It was not described as a static product that would remain just as it was.... The story did change a year later though... From the userguide. http://www.bang-olufsen.com/beomedia1-userguide/UK/Config/softupdate.html Beoaus...

  • Re: HDD based products like BS 3200 and BS 5: Useless when HDD crashes?

Systems based on hard disks face an interesting dilemma. Hard disks fail, more often nowdays then previously. In the IT industry we have RAID, image backups, tape backups, offline storage etc to mitigate some risk. Standard drives on average fail in the 2-3 year mark. B&O warranty is 2 years here. The cost of replacing something out of warranty
