  • Re: Using a UK BV7-40 in the USA...

I'm using a 240V BeoSound Ouverture in the US, Masterlink-connected to a locally bought BeoVision 8. The Ouverture is hooked up to a step-up transformer (you need to step-UP the wall voltage from 120V to 240V). Works great, both CD & radio, no issues whatsoever. Leo

  • Re: Which Sony PS3 for the BV7-40 please?

Interesting PS3 comments - I too find my PS3 (an earlier 40GB, non-backwards-compatible model) noisy, due to the fan. However it's been completely reliable. I've never experienced it losing connection with a controller (except for one time when the controller's charge depleted). Been using it daily for games and movies for half a year. Tip

Russ, do you know if the BV8-40 is coming to the USA? Thanks! Leo

  • Re: New 2009 Brochure

Thanks for the page scan. The cabinet stand doesn't seem to be manufactured for the 40" version. I have the 32" with the cabinet and find it extremely practical, plus it looks great. Was planning on being the first to upgrade but if this is the case... Oh well. Leo

  • Re: Comvert Beogram 4500 220v to 110v

I'm sure you're aware of this Barry but just in case you weren't, you could simply just use a step-up transformer. The product works in its new environment and its authenticity is maintained. I acquired a Beosound Ouverture (aka 4000) from Hong Kong and brought it to the States. With a cheap US$15 transformer it runs just fine. Leo

  • Re: LC1 with halogen lamp

Thanks for the replies everyone. I have one more question which would probably be an easy answer for someone who knows about circuitry! Since the LC1 is no longer produced I'd like to treat it as gently as possible. Does the amount of wattage connected to the LC1 affect its lifespan? In other words, would connecting 100W make it last, say 10 years

  • LC1 with halogen lamp

Hello, I have a fully-functional, 110V American version of the LC1 and would like to use it with a couple of halogen lamps. I have read that it is "unsuitable" for use / not likely to work with halogen bulbs - what exactly does "unsuitable" mean in this context? Does it mean it would still work but would shorten the lifespan of the

  • Re: Does the Beovision 8 downmixes from 5.1 to 2 channel?

Not until the BV8-40 at least. Rumor has it that the 40" version, due to come on the market in April, will have surround sound module as an option. Hopefully it will arrive in the States! I plan to be first in line to upgrade. :-) Leo

Rico, do you have the PS3 set to output audio in 2 channels or 5.1? I have it set to 2 channels in my set-up so the BV8 does not need to do any reprocessing to the signal. Leo
