wtlc2zpx: moxxey: B&O are still producing a computer the size of an old 1990's desktop PC? B&O uses the same form factor as Beovision 9 have a space for the Beomedia 1 and the Beomaster 5 will fit in there. p. I don't care in the slightest about the BV9. I have a BC2 and the socket box is huge - almost a metre wide. Any designer in 2009

tIRED: The BM5 (which has these connections) look exacly like a BM1 and does need to be in a cabinet. Pardon? I have a Mac Mini from 2005 which is about 20cm-ish wide. It is very capable of spooling audio and non-HD video. If in 2009 - when the BM5 is due for release - B&O are still producing a computer the size of an old 1990's desktop PC?

plagente: I'm not ready to pay 5 000 Euros (or more...) only for listening my music library. The problem I have is this - deals can be done on existing B&O equipment, whether this is from your local dealer or via someone like Lifestyle-AV. For this reason, you can pick up a Beocenter 2 for under £2000 and you get a superbly designed CD

Stars: just like the BV7 32" it wouldn't be a substantial saving even if this did happen. My understanding was that the saving was £1000. £1000 from a £6500 TV is a very substantial saving!

Yes, what did they install? I asked my dealer and sw 5.0 is still not available. Anyone know?

kokomo: I have a message for B&O. I don't need to 'imagine' that concept, I achieve it on a daily basis with my iPod touch. Isn't the irony here that we *can't* touch our digital music as the Beosound 5 doesn't have a touch screen? It's wheel based..
-
gorissek: But the real problem is the main site. Mainly there is no sense of luxury.. Plus, it hasn't changed in years. Maybe that's my perception, but I can't remember a different B&O website and I've been buying B&O since 2004. It might have improved, but structurally it's the same? As we're so passionate - and B&O
-
I've been told that you can get up to a 50% discount from a joint promotion if you approach a local dealer - they want people to promote B&O products, locally, where (potential) customers will see the product. If your friend is planning on showing off B&O equipment where it will be seen by potential customers, tell him to approach his local

Roger: The last sw update was distribued in November 2006 - and the automatic update feature was mentioned as a key selling point. I've been told that the Beosound 5 will be released unfinished with 'ongoing software updates', primarily as it will be connected to the Internet, so sw downloads can be automated. Don't get me wrong, I want

TripEnglish: Just to be clear, you specifically used the word 'better.' In America, we're having an election right now. Though I get the idea that most of the participants here are from the UK I assume you're reasonably familiar with our two candidates. Now, Trip, you're rambling. We'll see what happens when it's released
